Agency website

Kodefiz.com

A full rebuild of the website of Kodefiz, the agency I work at, made so the team can edit every page without a developer.

The problem

The old site was built by an outside developer and the code was never handed over. The team could not change a line of text without help, and the site no longer matched where the agency was going.

The new site had to keep the content that already worked for search, look like one consistent brand, and stay fully editable by the team after launch.

My approach

5 decisions that shaped the build, and why each one was made.

  1. 01

    Keep what works

The SEO-written text from the old site was kept, while the design and structure were rebuilt from scratch.

  2. 02

    Editable by the team

Only classic Elementor widgets, with custom HTML only where Elementor cannot do something, so small changes never need a developer.

  3. 03

    One design system

Navy and orange, soft curved section edges and raised cards. The home page set the rules and every other page reuses them.

  4. 04

    Tested on real screens

Checked at 1366, 1440 and 1920 wide, on tablet and on a 375px phone: no sideways scrolling and motion that respects reduced-motion settings.

  5. 05

    Staging, backup, then live

Built on a staging domain, the old site backed up, then the new WordPress site moved onto kodefiz.com.

What it does now

  • A home page that fits the first screen, key stats visible
  • Pages that all reuse one design system
  • Header and footer shared across the site
  • Every section editable in Elementor
  • Responsive from phone to wide desktop
  • Live on kodefiz.com
04 · What I learned
“Build for the people who will keep the site.”

A site the team can update themselves is worth more than a clever one only a developer can touch. Writing down the rules from the first page made every next page faster.
